Punk Goes Crunk
After discovering the "Punk Goes Crunk" album, I thought I might like the cover of Rhianna's song "Umbrella" more than the original, but turns out I don't. A couple of the songs from the album are more to my liking, though, and I play them during the show.

Science Meets the Radio
I recommend Radiolab, a fantastic show I discovered recently. If you can't catch it live, subscribe to the podcast. It's worth it!

Presidential Candidate Smackdown
> The messages that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain recorded for the WWE were slightly amusing, a bit scary and also rather sad, in my opinion.

Summer Movies
Movies I'm looking forward to catching this summer: "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" and "The X-Files: I Want to Believe."

"Umbrella," by All Time Low
"Heya," by Lorene Drive
"Tennessee," by New Found Glory

In the Back Yard
My mom, Laurie, joins me this week to ramble on about books, music, fashion and food. I interview her with the James Lipton questionaire and she improvises a few questions for me, as well.

Audio Bookworm
I give my thoughts on two books I've read recently, "Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold," by C. S. Lewis and "Salt: A World History," by Mark Kurlansky. I also reveal who I think would make the perfect Rhett Butler if someone remade the film version of "Gone With the Wind."

Food & Fashion
We talk about our favorite colors and discuss the season types color system for selecting clothing and accessories.

I also describe a couple things I've baked recently: Bakewell Tart (Thanks to Anthony for the recipe!) and Swedish Apple Cake. Yum! Next up: Norwegian Princess Cake.

More Randomness
There's lots more to the show, but you'll have to listen to discover what it includes. ;)

'80s Nostalgia
While listening to a profile of Cookie Monster from NPR's "In Character" series earlier this week, I was struck by a wave of nostalgia that caused me to remember random things from the '80s, including "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," various cartoons and jelly shoes.

10 Questions
Cookie Monster's answers to the James Lipton questionaire cracked me up, so I decided to answer the questionaire myself.

Looking Forward to... I just discovered that Joshua Radin will release a new album this summer and it will include the four songs from his current EP, "Unclear Skies." You can listen to some of the songs from the album at Joshua's MySpace page.

"This American Life" Live

"This American Life," one of my favorite NPR shows, will broadcast a one-time-only special to movie theaters across the U.S. on May 1. Catch it if you can!

More Bacony Goodness
Excellent news: Jim Gaffigan is soon to head out on "The Sexy Tour" and will film his second Comedy Central Special in Austin later this year. All the details are available on Jim's blog.

Apolo Ohno TV Appearance
According to this article, Apolo Ohno will appear on "Dancing With the Stars" on May 6, I report.

More Josh Groban News
I've some Josh Groban news to share, as usual: Josh will film a PBS special on April 15 (to be aired some time this year, I believe) and will perform with Paul Simon in the "American Tunes" concerts to be held April 23-27, 2008 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

"Awake Live" News
I'm very happy to report that Josh Groban's "Awake Live" CD/DVD combo will be released on May 6th. A special limited Internet-only version of "Awake Live" is available for preorder at JoshGroban.com and the first single, "Awake," is available for download at Amazon MP3, as well as at iTunes.

Show Ingrid Some Love!
I was recently shocked to learn that someone had hacked into Ingrid Michaelson's MySpace account and deleted it. All should be sorted out soon, but in the meantime, check out her temporary MySpace account here. In happier news, Ingrid has released a music video for "The Way I Am" and will support the Dave Matthews Band on tour this summer.

Paolo Nutini on Tour
The Dave Matthews Band has good taste in opening acts, as they've also selected Paolo Nutini to open for them on select dates of their U.S. and Canadian tour this summer.

Alex Giordani, Intel SuperGroup Winner
Congrats to Alex Giordani for winning "Best Singer/Songwriter" in the Intel SuperGroup contest! He's recorded a cover of Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My," which can be downloaded from iTunes.

Shawn Hlookoff's Music Featured on TV
Congratulations also go out to Shawn Hlookoff, who has written new songs specifically for ABC's new show, "Eli Stone," and has had his song,"She Could Be You," featured on ABC's "Kyle XY." To hear more of Shawn's music and to keep up with his career, check out his MySpace page.

Feelling Nutty
When in search of oh so delicious chocolate-covered espresso beans, I came across Nuts for Our Troops, which allows us to send a package of nutty goodness to a service man or woman serving overseas for only $30. Added bonus: 10% of the profits will be donated to the Fisher House charity.
