Hurricane Scare
Before making landfall near Galveston a couple weeks ago, Hurricane Ike caused a scare here in the Corpus Christi area, which prompted me to reschedule some of my plans. Everything is back on track now, though, so I decided to put out a show this week before taking another hiatus from producing shows.

Guess Who?
As usual, I share the latest Josh Groban news, including his hilarious musical tribute at the EMMY Awards, the fact that Josh recently recorded a song with Placido Domingo, took part in the "Stand Up to Cancer" telecast, and appears in the Ben Folds/Regina Spektor video for "You Don't Know Me." To see what Josh has to say about working with Placido Domingo (and more), watch his video blog.

Ingrid Michaelson News
Ingrid Michaelson is also supporting "Stand Up to Cancer," with proceeds from the sale of her song "Be Ok" and her upcoming album of rarities, also titled "Be Ok," to benefit the organization. The album will be released October 14.

The Killers to Release New Album
The latest offering from The Killers, "Day and Age," will be released on November 25 in the U.S. and November 24 in the U.K. The first single, "Human," can be heard at The Killers' official Web site or their MySpace page.

It's Short Track Time
Fans of Apolo Ohno will be interested to know that the first World Cup of the short track speedskating season will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah starting October 17. Visit The Ohno Zone for info and results.

Presidential Debate
When this show was recorded, it still wasn't certain if John McCain would make an appearance at the first Presidential debate, so I talked a bit about that. As he did appear, you can watch the debate and read the transcript.

Off Again
Since Hurricane Ike interrupted my plans, I had to reschedule them. I'm taking another break from producing RF shows, but I should be back within a month. Stay tuned!

NPR Showcases Great Music
I play a song by Amy MacDonald that I first heard on NPR's "Weekend Edition Saturday." NPR always features great new music, as evidenced by their highlighting of Miss MacDonald's tunes and by this interview with Johnny Flynn from "All Things Considered."

A Wonderful Evening
I give a brief recap of the Gipsy Kings concert I attended last Friday night.

"Simple Times" From Joshua Radin
I'm really looking forward to hearing "Simple Times," Joshua Radin's sophomore release. The album will drop on September 30.

TV + Music
Shawn Hlookoff's song, "Wonderful Surprise,"is being used in the promo videos for the new ABC show, "Samurai Girl." The song is also available for download on iTunes. Amazon MP3 has some of Shawn's music available for download, as well.

Song of the Week
Vetiver's cover of Loudon Wainwright III's "The Swimming Song" is my pick for this week. It's a perfect end of summer song.

"Quantum Cello"
I stumble horribly when trying to describe Zoe Keating's music. All I can say is, go have a listen for yourself. It's absolutely beautiful.

Election '08 Rambling
Despite what I said last week about not talking about politics before November, I have to give my thoughts on John McCain's newly announced Vice-Presidential running mate, Sarah Palin.

Short Hiatus
I'm taking a short break from producing RF shows for the next few weeks. I'm not sure of the exact timeline, but I will probably have another show online by the beginning of next month. Thanks for your patience.
